A girl’s weekend is a must in my opinion. Every year my three best gal pals and I take a mini fall vacation to enjoy all the autumnal beauty that Ontario has to offer. The adventure starts with a two-hour drive from Kingston to Calabogie, Ontario; a small skiing village about 45 minutes outside of Ottawa with amazing views, people, and charm. The small town nature of this community forces you to think outside the box when it comes to finding things to do. Most days the girls and I spend our time hiking and taking pictures of the beautiful foliage that emerges this time of the year. The photos below really capture the beautiful transformation of Calabogie in the fall.
The photo above is located at a popular lookout point called Eagles Nest. This lookout point highlights the surrounding Madawaska Highlands making for a breathtaking panorama. I have included a link at the bottom of the post for those hikers interested in conquering this trail and the other many trails surrounding. The video below is a great representation of the amazing views this trail offers.
The weekend always seems to fly by quickly, but I am always excited for next year when we get to reconnect and add new adventures and experiences to our Calabogie repertoire. Upon returning to Kingston the weekend has to be closed off by indulging in some Menchies and reflecting on the great memories that were formed over the weekend.
